My pedagogical range extends from undergraduate teaching to post-doctoral supervision, from tutorials and closed workshops to large conferences, from museum studies to medical humanities and visual culture. Teaching, for me, is intimately bound up in research – both my own and that of students. My teaching career has followed the arc of my intellectual and professional development, and thus has spanned a number of institutions in several countries and a variety of subjects and methods. It has also led me to develop cross-disciplinary curricula — such as teaching humanities research methods to visual artists, exhibition practice to scientists, and collections-based research to literary historians — not all of which happens in the classroom.
